Should I turn back?
Or maybe I should just cycle in the rain;
Allow the raindrops to wash away the sadness in me.
Wash away my sorrow I kept within me.
I stopped my bike and looked up at the sky,
Watching the dark clouds form any minute.
I sneezed.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
It's going to be a storm.
I hitched up my bike and continued my way home.
I passed by his house.
How I hoped to ring his doorbell and say hi.
Out of the blue,
Rain started to storm down on me.
SHIT!
My phone!
My MP4!
I cycled to the nearest place
To shelter from the rain - playground.
Thank God for small roofs.
I waited for the rain to stop.
There's no thunder nor lightning.
Maybe cycling in the rain is not a bad idea.
But my phone and mp4 will get wet.
I debated.
Should I call him and ask for plastic bags?
I pounded my head.
That's my first option.
But what is my second?
What if he isn't at home at all?
What should I do next?
Call my mom?
No.
I sighed,
Took out my phone and search for his name.
I took a deep breath.
Here goes.
I clicked the call button.
It rang.
Once.
Twice.
"Hello?"
"Hey!"
"Hey, what's up?"
My knees turned jelly just from listening to his voice.
"Um. Are you free?"
"Yeah."
"Um. Are you at home now?"
"Yeah, why?"
I chuckled,
"Can you loan me a couple of plastic bags?"
"What for? Where are you?"
I shivered.
The wind started to pick up.
"I'm at the playground. Just outside your house."
"What the hell are you doing there?"
"Um. Hanging around?"
"Come on over, will get the plastic bags ready."
"Thanks."
"No probs."
I let out my breath.
My heart pounded oh so hard.
I chucked my phone in my pocket,
Hoping it won't get wet.
I jumped,
Climbed on my bike,
And cycled to his house.
His gate was open.
I cycled in and stopped under the roof.
I got down from my bike,
Took out my specs and pushed my wet hair
Out of my eyes as I closed my eyes.
"Kim?"
I opened my eyes and I saw him in front of me.
Even though I couldn't see clearly without my specs,
I could see him standing there,
Waiting for me to say something.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt to whatever you're doing."
"No, it's okay. I got the plastic bags!"
He said as he held up two plastic bags.
I took out my nearly soaked phone and mp4
And put it on a table nearby.
"Thanks," I said as I took the plastic bags from him.
I chucked my phone into a plastic bag and my mp4 another.
Suddenly,
I felt warmer.
Apparently,
He tried to wrapped me up with a towel.
I cleared my throat,
I didn't know what to say
Or how to react.
"Want to come in and have a drink?"
He was just a foot away from me.
I could feel his breath upon my wet hair
And I could see his chest going up and down from breathing.
I looked up at him,
His features became clearer due to the fact
He was oh so close to me.
I blushed,
"Maybe not. My mom must be worried."
"Give her a call?"
I backed up as he took a step front.
"But I have to get home as soon as possible,"
"No, not really."
Backed up.
"My phone is running low on credit, I can't really call her."
"You can use my house phone,"
My back is against the wall.
"But I'm wet."
"You can dry off here while I get you a cup of hot drink."
Thunder boomed.
Lightning strike.
I was afraid and took a step front without thinking with my eyes shut.
I ended up against his chest;
His body gave out a heat I need for my cold numb one.
I shivered, clutching hold of the towel.
I felt his hands wrapped around me,
Providing me more heat.
"You're cold, so cold."
I tried to nod.
I felt his lips upon my hair.
Finally,
I came to my senses.
I tried to push myself away from him
Somehow,
I couldn't.
Maybe it's because he's holding me tight.
I don't know.
I looked up at him
And saw him looking down upon me.
Like an angel that descended from Heaven.
"I...I'm sorry for getting you wet,"
"It's alright," He whispered softly.
He lowered his head,
Coming in for a kiss.
I closed my eyes.
RIIING!
My eyes snapped open and I saw him looking at my phone.
I reached for my specs and took my phone.
"It's my mom,"
He nodded.
"Yeah?"
"Where are you? It's raining and there's thunder and lightning,"
He hugged me tighter,
"I'm at my friend's house, seeking warmth."
"You want me to come get you?"
I looked at him and smiled,
"It's okay, we have a lot to catch up."
I offed the phone,
Tip toed and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Thanks for everything,
But I think the rain is going to stop and I have to get home."
"Where do you stay?"
"If I tell you, that will be cheating."
"Cheating?"
"You promised to find my house,"
I got up on my bike and turned my bike around.
He stood in front of me.
"Aww come one,"
I smiled.
He leaned in to peck me on the cheek.
"Bye,"
I whispered and woke up,
Feeling warm and felt happiness flood all over me.
Like an angel that descend from Heaven
